Alphinity is an Australian and global equities fund manager established in 2010. The founders have worked together since 2004, successfully applying the same investment process and tools. In 2015, Alphinity moved into global equities, adding three new portfolio managers to resource the strategy. The company is majority owned and managed by its founders, which creates strong alignment between team and client interests. It aims to deliver consistent outperformance for its clients by investing in companies it has identified as quality undervalued companies which it believes are in, or about to enter, a period of earnings upgrades. Its process for identifying such companies includes a distinctive combination of fundamental analysis and quantitative inputs. Alphinity’s investment approach is based on a combination of strong fundamental bottom-up research and targeted quantitative inputs aimed specifically at identifying mispriced companies likely to deliver earnings above those the market expects. The output of this combined fundamental and quantitative research enables the investment team to objectively compare companies across and within sectors. In addition to identifying research priorities, it provides both “buy” and “sell” signals and helps construct portfolios that aim to offer a high level of return for a given level of risk.
